SAGE Community Action Group Discussions-Online

WHAT:

SAGE’s Center of Excellence is starting a Community Action Group of elders who can guide our research strategy and help promote studies. Before we can do that, we want to hear from LGBTQ+ elders. We are hosting discussion groups to hear about what LGBTQ+ elders have experience with research, and to learn about how they feel about research and clinical trials.

Discussion groups will be interactive virtual Zoom meetings hosted by Elise Hernandez, Director of Research and Impact, lasting approximately 1.5 hours long, and involving 6-8 LGBTQ+ identified elders ages 50 and older.

Those who participate for the full session will receive a virtual Visa gift card.

WHY:

We want to know more about LGBTQ+ elders’ understanding of and experiences with research and clinical trials—why LGBTQ+ elders participate, or don’t, what gets in the way, and what elders would do to champion it, to make it more inviting and beneficial for themselves and their peers.

WHO:

We are looking for 12-16 people who identify as LGBTQ+ and are 50 years or older from across the country. Individuals can only attend one discussion group.

WHEN:

June 27, 4-5:30pm CDT

June 28th, 12-1:30pm CDT
